Nico Rosberg looking to repeat '14 German Grand Prix win

Nico Rosberg has spoken of his happiness to get back behind the wheel this weekend at the German Grand Prix, just one week after his missed out on holding onto his championship lead in Hungary.

The German lost the lead in the title race for the first time this season in Hungary after finishing second to team mate and new leader Lewis Hamilton, but he hopes a repeat of his win at the last German Grand Prix will put his championship challenge back on track.

"I'm happy to have the chance to get back in the car again so soon - and especially happy that it's at my second home race," said the 31-year-old Monaco resident. "I had a fantastic day at Hockenheim a few weeks ago driving Mika Häkkinen's championship-winning car. That really gave me a massive buzz to be back racing in Germany."

"Driving in through the circuit gates brought back so many great memories - from my childhood days at the DTM with my Dad right through to winning the Grand Prix for myself in 2014," he added. "Hopefully I can repeat that this year for the fans and for everybody at Mercedes."

"I’ll be pushing flat out to give them the result they deserve before they get some time to recharge their batteries."

The German Grand Prix returns to Hockenheim this weekend after a one year absence. The race was set to alternate with the Nurburgring until the former European and Luxembourg Grand Prix venue hit financial difficulties.
