Despite its quick return to Formula One after his horror crash in Australia at the start of the season, Fernando Alonso feels as if he has still not fully recovered.
At the crash at Albert Park, where he went hard into the wall after rolling several times, Alonso broke some ribs and had a partially collapsed lung.
On his return he announced that he was "100 percent fit," but now the McLaren driver has admitted that he still has some pain in his ribs.
"I still have pain in my ribs," the Spaniard told The Sun.
"When I'm driving and have to use some muscles around the ribs I still feel it is not normal, like the other side," Alonso said.
In free practice Alonso's former team-mate Lewis Hamilton collided with a tyre wall but despite the softer nature of his incident, he still paid a visit to the circuit medical centre.
"In MotoGP they drive with broken ankles and collarbones and here we have a sore little finger and they don't want you to race," the Mercedes driver said.
"Fortunately, I have no problems," Hamilton told Focus. "The medical team did a great job."
