Lewis Hamilton apologises to team after FP2 incident

After the victory in his home race Lewis Hamilton began today confident in the preparations for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Briton drove in the first free practice session the fastest time, but was in the second free practice session after just fifteen minutes on the side. Hamilton crashed at the start of the fast turn eleven and damaged the car so that he could not go out.

The reigning world champion managed just four laps before I slid off the track at turn 11, making heavy contact with the wall.

"Not a good session for me," he said. "I have to apologise to the team for the extra work."

Despite the incident, Hamilton remained upbeat about his prospects for the weekend, saying: I'm sure I will be there again tomorrow."
