Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has set the fastest time in the first free practice for the British grand prix. The reigning world champion realised a 1:34.274 on a sunny Silverstone. The German had a troubled start with hydraulic gearbox issues limiting his running. Lewis Hamilton span at the exit of Turn 15 and Felipe Nasr went sideways into Turn 3. Both McLaren drivers suffered reliability problems once again.
