Rubens Barrichello says he was blocked from trying to see his old teammate Michael Schumacher.
The pair were at Ferrari between 2000 and 2005, but in late 2013 Schumacher injured his brain in a skiing accident.
"I tried to find a way to visit him, but they said to me 'It will not do you or him any good'," Barrichello told Brazil's Globo. "So I don't have any news," he added. (GMM)

Maybe he can find a Ferrari to stand behind somewhere, that should get the memories going.

Can we all just give him and his family the privacy they deserve, PLEASE ?!!
I'm sure they all know that we want to know, but it is REALLY none of OUR business until THEY say so.- + 1

Exactly! We get this song and dance every few months from everybody from his 5th grade teacher to the clerk at his local gas station.
I even think Rubens said too much here. And the Schumacher family doesn't owe him or the rest of us anything. If they want to make an announcement they can, but everybody else need to get over themselves.- + 0

Touchy subject, yes but I think no news (at all) is what is strange and maybe an announcement every now and again of his condition would put the matter to rest. He still is and always will be admired by millions globally. What is there to hide!

@ROGERF1 I see your point, but the Schumacher family know how the press work more than us. Give them an inch, and they will take the nation, the world, the universe, and most importantly the bloody piss. Say something as little like "he's fine", and guys like those at Sky or La Gazzetta will say "Schumacher confirmed as being able to walk!!!!!111one". Respect isnt on the table for those folks. These arent good times for the Schumis, can you blame them for not letting the peanut gallery in on more than that? And as HEPP says, this is likely not Schumi anymore. 'tis better for the family and for us if they let them be.

Such no-news. I realize 'tis hot to write about anything Schumi, but sweet baby Jesus, let the poor family be. I dont think Barichello's comments were all that bad, just saying that he tried to get a visit in with Schumi but was refused, but I dont find it newsworthy. Just let the poor sods be. If, against all odds, we get a positive end to that saga, they will let us know, Im sure of it, but in the meantime I'd just prefer it if media stopped reporting on it altogether. Take it from someone who adored the guy since an age of 4.
