Hamilton could dominate the 2017 field - Jordan

Former team owner Eddie Jordan has suggested that Lewis Hamilton could dominate the rest of the field this year, after losing out to former team mate Nico Rosberg last season.

Hamilton was gunning for a third successive world title in 2016 but failed to come out on top as Nico Rosberg claimed his maiden championship at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Jordan, who managed his own team from 1991 to 2005, thinks that Hamilton's defeat last year will only craft him into a stronger and more determined driver in 2017.

"Hamilton got a big shock last year," Jordan told Autosport. "He left at the summer break looking invincible - as if he was commanding everything that needed to be done, and he took his eye off the ball.

"And Rosberg, some might say he was lucky, some may not, but he took full advantage and he won a championship. Hamilton realises he should be a four-time world champion. He's not. So he's now going to make sure that he doesn't make the same mistake twice.

Hamilton will have a new team mate to compete with this year, as Valtteri Bottas makes the step up into a Silver Arrow after Nico Rosberg retired after winning his championship last year.
