Ferrari could have cancelled their Christmas lunch this year according to a well connected Italian journalist.
Ferrari media insider Leo Turrini, says that 'friends' have revealed the decision which came about because "there is nothing to celebrate"
However, he wrote on his Quotidiano blog that company president Sergio Marchionne is currently "very present" at Maranello, and could change his mind so that the mechanics and engineers can mark the festive period in another way.
"This small episode is perhaps an indicator of sentiment," said Turrini.
Ferrari began 2016 aiming for championship glory but are now set to settle for third after a second winless campaign in three years.
"Now let's focus on Abu Dhabi," said team boss Maurizio Arrivabene. "It's the last race of the season but, as we always say, we're not giving up until the end."
