Nico Rosberg feels his past victories in Brazil will not give him the edge over title rival Lewis Hamilton this weekend.
Rosberg has won the last two Grands Prix at Interlagos, while Hamilton has never triumphed on the home turf of his hero Ayrton Senna.
"Those past wins are not going to help me get the win this weekend," said Rosberg. "We all start from the same place and I just need to do a good job this weekend and that's it."
Speaking of Friday practice, Rosberg said the hot conditions made it difficult, but otherwise it was a fairly straightforward day.
"It's been very hot out there today – more so than we expect it to be for the rest of the weekend," Rosberg explained. "As a result, that makes it difficult to fully prepare for qualifying and the race.
"Other than that, it was a pretty normal Friday. Our car looks quick but Red Bull are definitely close," he added. "The Soft tyre is degrading quite a lot on the long runs, with blistering on the rears. There's a surprising amount of degradation on the Medium tyre too."
"But I think overall we've got decent pace on the long runs."
