Pascal Wehrlien insists he is confident of returning to the Formula One grid next year, despite not yet being confirmed as returning for 2017.
The German, who has ties with Mercedes, has spent this season with Manor, where he scored the team's second-ever points finish in Austria earlier this year.
Speaking to Autosport, the reigning DTM champion said he was confident he would be back.
"My feeling is that first of all I'm confident," he said. "I'm a Mercedes driver and they are all happy with me."
"I know that they will do what they can, and they will find the best option for me next year, so I'm not concerned about next year - which is good," he continued. "I have showed some good results this year and everyone is happy, but as you know Formula One is not always so easy."
"Let's see what happens, but I'm confident and I'm happy with the season so far, and with both teams - Manor and Mercedes."
