Max Verstappen has again reiterated that he is not phased by criticism, calling it "a good thing".

The Dutch teenager has been the centre of controversy surrounding his driving style all season, but he insists that as long as people are talking about him, he is happy.

"I always consider it very positive when you are a talking point in F1." Verstappen is quoted by F1i. "Whether this is negative or positive, it does not matter. As long as they talk about you, it’s a good thing."

"The attention does not really affect me," he added. "For me, the most important thing is to deliver on track and that’s what I’m focussing on."

Malaysia is a track that holds fond memories for Verstappen.

The Red Bull driver scored points on his first ever visit to the track last year with a seventh placed finish aged just 17 years and 180 days, making him the youngest ever points scorer in F1 history - a record that will never be beaten with the minimum age of 18 since being introduced.

"My memories from the race in Malaysia last year are very positive," he said. "The weekend started off pretty difficult but we managed to turn it around… even in qualifying already (he was sixth on the grid) and then in the race I did not have an easy start but from there on I enjoyed it."
