Renault F1 team boss Frederic Vasseur has admitted that Robert Kubica recently tested in Renault's Formula One simulator.
The 2008 Canadian Grand Prix winner's F1 career was cut short at start of 2011 after a rallying crash left him fighting for his life.
Since them he has competed in the World Rally Championship, and last weekend he finished on the podium in the Renault Sport Trophy at Spa, only his second circuit racing outing since his accident.
When asked about Kubica's strong result at Spa, Vasseur, who is now at the helm of Kubica's last F1 team, said: "It is no secret that Robert has spent time in the simulator at Enstone."
"I have a good relationship with him. It was interesting for me to put him in the simulator to get his feelings, as he has great experience in this world, and much of it in our cars," he added.
Kubica has also previously tested in Mercedes' F1 simulator
