Nico Rosberg says his approach of going for race wins rather than looking at the overall championship picture is paying off.
The German dominated the early part of the year before slipping behind team mate Lewis Hamilton. However, back-to-back wins after the summer beak have seen the second-generation driver narrow the gap again to just two points as the Formula One season enters its closing stages.
"I approach each weekend aiming to win the race," he said. "The points gap has gone up and down but I've taken it one race at a time – and that's the best way for me, as you can see by how the gap is now."
Rosberg leads the series in race wins for 2016 win seven to Hamilton's six, however, his team mate's superior podium record sees him edge their battle.
