Brewer Heineken waited until a dutch driver entered Formula One before sponsoring the series according to Bernie Ecclestone
"I think Heineken delayed getting into Formula 1 in the Netherlands until its own star came,'' Ecclestone said, referring to Max Verstappen.
The 85-year-old Ecclestone was with wife Fabiana at the opening of the Holland Heineken House in Rio de Janeiro, who begin hosting the Olympics today.
"It's a nice place, great to see the fans celebrating successes. I'm going to these Olympics, I'll certainly keep an eye on the Dutch athletes."
