As in Britain, Charles Leclerc drove for Haas during first free practice at the Hungaroring, taking the place of Esteban Gutierrez.
Leclerc set the sixteenth fastest time in first free practice and drove 22 laps on the Hungarian circuit.
Although he was over a second slower than regular driver Romain Grosjean, the young talent is happy with the experience he gained during the free practice sessions.
"It's great to get more mileage and build confidence in a Formula One car. I went straight to the mediums to the supersofts this morning, and it was quite a big step," Leclerc told The Checkered Flag.
"For my experience it is good to feel the difference between these tyres. This makes me learn more about the car. We did a lot of laps on the super soft tyres and all in all it was a good session. I am happy and I hope I've been helpful to the team. "
