Former Ferrari driver Ivan Capelli has said that he expects Monza to continue hosting the Italian Grand Prix.
Monza has hosted the race ever year bar one since the world champioship began in 1950 but recent speculation has suggested Imola will take over next year.
However Capelli, who had a best finish of fith in the Italian Grand Prix (1988) said that there isn't much standing in the way of Monza.
"It is just technicalities that need a clear framework that we already know will be formalised this week," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"The money is there. If it were to go to Imola, it is because there is a will that is beyond all of that but right now, I cannot see it," Capelli added.
When asked if Monza and Imola could alternate the race like Hockenheim and the Nuburgring have done with the German Grand Prix, Capelli dismissed the idea entirely.
"No," Capelli said, "because there was always the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, and rightly so. I think the goal is to sign for four more years."
