Jackie Stewart backs Lewis Hamilton for the title

Sir Jackie Stewart expects Lewis Hamilton to overhaul his record of three Formula One world championships and become the most successful British driver in terms of championship titles.

Hamilton already has more wins and pole positions than any other British driver but Stewart, who won the championship in 1969, 1971, and 1973, thinks that Hamilton will wrap up title number four this season.

"Lewis will be champion again. There is no doubt," the Scot said. "He is simply the best and especially the fastest driver in the field."

Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone agreed, believing that Nico Rosberg's one point advantage over Hamilton won't last much longer.

"I think Lewis will win," he told Bild am Sonntag newspaper. "I don't mean to say that it would be better for formula one, or that it's anything bad about Nico. I would just put my money on Lewis."
