Petru Florescu has been excluded from the Knockill round of the British Formula Four event after punching a team mate.
The Romanian collided with fellow Carlin driver Devlin DeFrancesco on the start finish straight, sending the latter slamming into the tyre barriers and knocking both out of the race instantly.
After the crash, Florescu got out of his car and stormed over to DeFrancesco who appeared to be holding his hands up to admit fault in the incident. Florescu wasn't interested in what his team mate had to say, and punched him before a marshal leapt in to separate the pair.
Afterwards, the stewards excluded Florescu from the entire event, while DeFrancesco was slapped with a 10-place grid penalty for the following race for his part in the collision.
After heading to the weekend in Scotland with a four point championship lead, Florescu now sits in sixth, 30 points adrift of new championship leader Max Fewtrell.
