Mercedes still considering 2018/19 entry

Mercedes is still exploring the possibility of entering Formula E for the fifth season of the series, which will take place in 2018/19. The organisers have already set aside a spot for the German manufacturer should they wish to enter at the end of next year.

The team has to make a decision by October of 2017, meaning there are only mere months to discuss what will happen. Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport Toto Wolff admitted that the team was still mulling over its options.

"We are exploring Formula E at the moment and try to form an educated opinion. It is something that is very different, although I think they’ve done a great job in establishing the series in a couple of years only. We are in a fact-finding moment and we will make up our mind until October."
