2018 in-season testing to be hosted at Barcelona and Hungary

The locations of in-season testing for 2018 has been agreed by the teams, with Barcelona and Hungary being the selected venues. This year, the first in-season test came in Bahrain, in the week following the race, while the second test will be held on the Tuesday and Wednesday after the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The same format will apply next year, with this time the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosting the first test. It will be held over two days in the week following the Spanish Grand Prix, with the pre-fixed date set on the 15th-16th May. For the test in Hungary, the dates that have been applied are the 31st July-1st August, subject to calendar confirmation.

These tests will be the first since the 2018 pre-season tests, the dates and venues of which have not yet been confirmed. It is expected that the teams will once again venture to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the two weeks, although the Circuit Paul Ricard, which will host the French Grand Prix in 2018, has applied to host testing over this coming winter.
