Changes made at Monaco

Like other tracks on the 2017 calendar, Monaco has made a few changes this year to accommodate the new generation of Formula 1 cars. The new regulations mean the cars have much more downforce allowing them to corner at much higher speeds.

Improvements have been made to the TecPro barriers in Turns 1, 4, 11, 12 and 15. Between Turns 1 and 3 and Turns 4 and 5, added guardrails have been installed.

The track has also been re-surfaced. A new coat has been laid down from the start line to 50m after Turn 1; and also between T4 and the entry to T8; from the exit of the tunnel to the entry to T10; from before T12 to after T14; from T19 to the line.

There is, of course, only one DRS zone in Monaco, down the start finish straight. The detection point is 80m after Turn 16 with the activation point located 18m after Turn 19.  The speed bumps across the run-off in Turns 15 and 16 have been removed and replaced by one speed bump parallel to the track.
