The Mercedes 2017 launch on Thursday raised some eyebrows as the Silver Arrows threw the covers off a car with no shark fin - a concept that has featured on every other car that has been launched so far.
Despite this, chief designer Aldo Costa has revealed that they will be testing the shark fin in Barcelona, and suss out the best system to use on their car for the first race in Melbourne.
"Over the past week we have had different variants of the shark fin pass by. Each team will have its own interpretation. We also have different versions of the part on hand and they will feel the tooth in Barcelona, to see what works best for us," said Costa.
