Formula One deputy race director Laurent Mekies has said that a future for the canopy head protection system is still alive and kicking.
F1 is set to introduce head protection for 2018 after the teams voted against the halo system for 2017. The halo looks to be the preferred option, but Mekies thinks that the canopy is still a possibility.
