Circuit de Catalunya is refusing to confirm that both 2017 pre-season tests will take place at the circuit.
Although it is believed that two four-day tests will take place at the circuit, some paddock figures, including representatives from Pirelli and Mercedes, are pushing for at least one test to take place in a warmer climate, such as Bahrain.
When asked about whether both tests will take place in Barcelona, circuit director Joan Fontsere said: "We have no official confirmation of this decision."
"We have done everything possible that it stays here, but the decision is theirs," he told the Diario Sport newspaper.
