Ticket sales for the 2016 Mexican Grand Prix are booming. The event at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City returned last year after a long absence and was an immediate success.
Three day attendance was measured at 336,000. This year, the track expanded its capacity to 150,000 and interest in the event is still huge.
"The presale is going very smoothly, we have a slightly larger capacity, we can now fit 150,000 people this year," promoter Rodrigo Sanchez explained to Auto Motor und Sport, "and it looks like we will fill those spots."
"We have two Mexican drivers in the field, when did we last see that? In addition, we are benefiting from our successful Grand Prix last year," Sanchez added. "We have a five-year contract and would like to make this Grand Prix a classic."
