Sachsenring chiefs have played down speculation suggesting they could host the German Grand Prix as early as next year.
As reported yesterday, Bernie Ecclestone has singled out the MotoGP venue as a potential replacement for the struggling Nurbugring and Hockenheim, which failed to meet its ticket sales target for last weekend's Grand Prix at the track.
However, Ruben Zeltner, boss of the circuit in Saxony, dismissed suggestions that the circuit could hold a Formula One race.
"The track is not suitable for it," he told told Leipziger Volkszeitung newspaper.
"Who should bear this risk?" he added, speaking of the millions of Euros the circuit would need to invest to bring it up to F1 standard
