Formula One's newest race in Baku could be set for a ten year stay on the calendar according to Azerbaijan's sports minister Azad Rahimov.
The country has inked a deal to host the European Grand Prix for the next five seasons, but has an option to extend the agreement.
"The contract for the race is signed for five years," minister Rahimov said, "and under the contract, we have the right to extend it for a further five years."
Azerbaijan will become the fourth country to host a standalone European Grand Prix after it was previously held in Britain, Germany, and Spain.
Nelson Piquet won the first full European Grand Prix at Brands Hatch in 1983, while the most recent running of the event was won by Fernando Alonso in 2012 in Valencia.
