Maria de Villota has lost her right eye after crashing at a straightline aerodynamic test on Tuesday, the Marussia
team said on Wednesday. The Banbury (UK) based team confirmed in a media statement that the 32-year-old was in surgery between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning to address "serious head and facial injuries".
"Maria remains in a critical but stable condition," said the team.
