Pirelli announce compounds for British Grand Prix

Pirelli has officially announced the three tyre compounds they will be travelling with for the British Grand Prix which takes place from the 14th - 16th of July. The Italian manufacturer revealed that the supersoft, soft and medium compounds will be used by teams at the 51st running of a world championship race at Silverstone.

Drivers previously protested to Pirelli, as they had originally planned to bring the hard compound to the race. However, as we saw in Barcelona last weekend, that compound was not used at all and deemed useless.  There are further suggestions that the hard tyre will not be seen again until the Japanese Grand Prix in October.
