Auto Motor und Sport is now reporting that rear tyre pressures have come down in the last three races, although front tyre pressures will "extremely high".
At the recent Singapore Grand Prix, front tyres had to be run at 20 PSI, while the rears came down to 16.5.
"They are almost normal pressures now," an unnamed engineer said.
However, the report claims that due to the difference in pressure from front to rear, tyre temperatures and wear rates are also different from front to rear, a difference that may be explained by how teams set up front camber.
However, Auto Motor und Sport correspondent Michael Schmidt has revealed that some teams are suspecting that Pirelli made changes to the construction of the rear tyre, which "could be a reason why the balance of power changed after the summer break".
