The last two weeks several media reported about a bankruptcy of Dutch company The Ticket Enterprise. A few thousand Formula 1 fans ordered tickets for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps and didn't receive their tickets yet. A lot of fans asking us, and on a Facebook group page: what to do?
Focus on solving problems for Spa-Francorchamps
F1Today.net has exclusively spoken with Maurice Bos, lawyer of TTE. Bos: "Of course it's a difficult situation for everybody. Most important at the moment is to get things clear and set things straight for the people who ordered tickets, specially because the Grand Prix in Spa will start within two weeks time. Owner Jasper van Eijck is at Spa-Francorchamps at the moment with two employees to sort things out. The database with be converted to be able to act quicker and see who ordered and who paid for tickets at Spa-Francorchamps."
Tickets will be sent this weekend
"There's an agreement between TTE and the organization of Spa-Francorchamps. The concept is on the table unless some details en will probably signed tomorrow. This means; everybody who ordered tickets and paid for the tickets will get them next week. The tickets will be sent this weekend. People who didn't pay for a ticket, won't get a ticket of course."
The reason why there was almost no information available was on advice from lawyer Bol. Except a brief statement earlier this week, where information was given about the current situation within the company, no other statements were made. Jasper van Eijck is nog available for comments as well. Bol: "I've advised Jasper to concentrate on sending the tickets of Spa-Francorchamps and not communicate with the media. That's the most important thing at the moment, all the efforts made need to go to sending of the tickets. When this situation is finished, he can always decide to comment in the media and give his view on the things that happened. There are also more races than only Spa-Francorchamps where situations need to be cleared. Monza will be the next one. We will look after that and solve problems later, when we sorted out things for Spa-Francorchamps."
The end of The Ticket Enterprise
Van Eijck won't continue with The Ticket Enterprise, as all the employees are fired. It's financially irresponsible to continue with the company, therefore TTE will cease to exist after the current Formula 1 season. There will be a solution for all the tickets who are ordered and paid for.
