Visa Cash App RB gebruikt Racing Bulls als bedrijfsnaam

Gisteren werd bekend dat het team van AlphaTauri vanaf dit jaar op de grid staat onder de naam Visa Cash App RB. De naamswijziging hing al eventjes in de lucht en niet iedereen is er even blij mee. Waar de 'RB' in de teamnaam voorstaat is niet helemaal duidelijk, maar de naam Racing Bulls is in ieder geval niet verdwenen.
Teameigenaar Red Bull heeft voor een flinke metamorfose bij de Italiaanse renstal gezorgd. De banden met zusterrenstal Red Bull Racing zijn aangetrokken en de naamswijziging werd al zeer vroeg aangekondigd. Aangezien het Red Bull-concern de naam 'Racing Bulls' al had laten vastleggen, gingen veel mensen er vanuit dat deze naam zou worden gebruikt in combinatie met de sponsors. In het persbericht van de naamswijziging werd er echter nergens gesproken over Racing Bulls.
Het is dan ook niet duidelijk of de 'RB' in Visa Cash App RB staat voor 'Racing Bulls' of 'Red Bull'. De naam Racing Bulls wordt in ieder geval wel gebruikt door het team, zo blijkt uit de teamwebsite en de deelnemerslijst van de FIA. De autosportfederatie heeft namelijk dat deelnemerslijst voor het aankomende seizoen aangepast. Op de eerder vrijgegeven deelnemerslijst stond het team nog onder de naam 'AlphaTauri' maar dat is nu aangepast. De bedrijfsnaam is namelijk vanaf nu 'Racing Bulls S.p.A'. Deze naam valt ook te lezen op de teamsite.

Visa cash app is ook de sponsor van het RBR team. Ondertussen hoeft RBR al jarenlang geen eigen bijdrage te leveren aangezien het hele budget wordt opgehoest door sponsoren, prima voor elkaar bij RBR...

Ik meen dat het contract dat Max tekende eind 2021 dit seizoen pas ingaat, Het zou gaan om 300 miljoen voor de komende vijf jaar exclusief bonussen. Er was al eerder voorspelt dat Max de eerste miljairder zou worden in de F1. Bizar natuurlijk maar als je de exposure ziet die RBR tegenwoordig heeft wereldwijd, zal het salaris van Max niet echt een probleem zijn voor een bedrijf die miljarden omzet en de 145 miljoen van de budgetcap niet eens zelf hoeft te betalen.

Inderdaad. Mee eens. Hij heeft nu al 3 titels en dat is goud marketing-technisch gezien. 300 mln is daarbij meer dan acceptabel om als investering te doen: dat bedrag is waarschijnlijk binnen een paar maanden(of weken) al terugverdiend. Ik zie daar geen problemen maar alleen een win-win voor beide partijen waarbij RB meer profiteert van de situatie hoor.

The FIA’s entry list for the 2024 Formula 1 season has confirmed Red Bull’s second team has been entered by a company named ‘Racing Bulls’.
However a representative of the team, which competed as AlphaTauri last year,
confirmed to Ra ceFa ns the initials ‘RB’ in its new name does not stand for
‘Racing Bulls’ or another phrase.
It revealed its new name for the upcoming season yesterday incorporating new sponsorship from two financial services companies, one of which was already a Red Bull sponsor. AlphaTauri will compete under the new title ‘Visa Cash App RB’.
The initials ‘RB’ first appeared in the original 2024 entry list published by the FIA last month. The team was entered under the title ‘Scuderia AlphaTauri RB’ with its chassis identified as ‘RB’.
The appearance of the name ‘Racing Bulls’ prompted speculation the initials represented this new title. A Red Bull-owned company trademarked the name and a logo for ‘Racing Bulls’ last year. The name now appears on its website and is referred to in the domain the team uses for its emails.
However the team says its ‘RB’ identity is intended to bring their branding closer to that of Red Bull. The connection was less obvious when they competed as AlphaTauri, prior to which they spent 14 years using the name ‘Toro Rosso’, which is Italian for Red Bull.
The team now refers to itself as VCARB.
