Wehrlein to race in Canada

Pascal Wehrlein has confirmed that there were no lasting injuries from his crash in Monaco and he is cleared to race in two weeks at Montreal. The German was tipped over onto his side by Jenson Button during the Monaco Grand Prix and hit his head off the barriers.

It was suspected that he could have aggravated injuries obtained in January at the Race of Champions when he hit fellow competitor Felipe Massa and rolled over onto the barriers. He suffered injuries severe enough to put himself out of the first two rounds of the season.

He was replaced in Australia and China by Antonio Giovinazzi who recently announced that he would be getting seven outings for Haas later this year. It was rumoured that the Italian could be stepping back into the Sauber for this weekend, but will not, as Wehrlien confirmed on Twitter that he would be racing in Canada.
