Retired 2016 F1 World Champion, Nico Rosberg, has ruled out returning to the sport with Ferrari.

Rosberg retired in spectacular fashion at the end of last season after winning the World Championship, stating he had achieved his life dream of becoming champion, and was now more focused on his family life.

But there has been speculation that Kimi Raikkonen could lose his seat at Ferrari due to his poor performance this season which has seen him being labelled as a “laggard” by Sergio Marchionne. This has led to rampant speculation in the paddock about who could replace him for next year, with Rosberg being touted as one of the possible candidates.

But Rosberg was quick to rule it out when questioned, saying: "No, it will not happen. It's an honour that so much is speculated about me, but I am fully satisfied with my career, I have no regrets."

  • Nico, to Ferrari? I doubt that move. He seem happy enough to have finished his F1 career. 'sides, Ferrari has stated that they dont want a German duo.

..... But Nico is German / Finnish.... Is it a German duo that Ferrari don't want, or is it another Germanic duo that they would prefer to avoid? Cue Alonso, Ricciardo, Perez, Sainz or Giovinnazzi....... Perhaps even Alonso / Ricciardo if Vettel were to move to Mercedes!..... Dream team!!

    • Any duo from the same nation, from the sound of it. They have no problem combining Räikkönen and Vettel, as you can see. Vettel is there to stay, me thinks, so whomever it'll be, it'll be someone Vettel approve of.
