Toto Wolff: "Only two drivers have not called me"

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has revealed that most of the grid has been in contact with him regarding Nico Rosberg's vacant seat.

Rosberg opted to walk away from Formula One last week following his title triumph, sparking a number of rumours over who would replace him.

Now Wolff has said that only two drivers in the field haven't expressed an interest in driving for the Silver Arrows.

"Only two drivers have not called me: Daniil Kvyat and Kimi Raikkonen," he said.

"Everyone else has, including Pastor Maldonado. Even drivers who have contracts."

But Wolff added: "I do not intend to interfere with the internal affairs of Ferrari, and I don't know whether Sebastian is seriously interested in a change."

At the Ferrari world finals event in Daytona, Sebastian Vettel played down the possibility of him moving to Mercedes.

"Kimi and myself both have a contract so it should be clear," he insisted.

And Wolff appears to have ruled out poaching a big name driver from another team.

"Why should Ferrari or McLaren be without Vettel and Alonso in December?" he said.

"Or Williams with Valtteri Bottas? This third path that I have described is therefore in last place with me."
